BBA Branding & Advertising Orientation 2025- SOBA

A new chapter unfolds for the Class of 2025 — a cohort of curious minds, creative thinkers, and future brand leaders stepping into a world where strategy meets storytelling.

The Orientation Ceremony was elevated by the inspiring presence of advertising legend Mr Pops KV Sridhar, whose thought-provoking address urged students to think beyond trends and build timeless ideas.
Joined by Dr Kiran Desai, PhD (Associate Dean), and Dr Tanmoy Chakraborty (Registrar), the event set the tone for an academic journey rooted in creativity, critical thinking, and communication excellence.
A high-energy panel discussion featuring Ajay Mehta (Content and Creative Head, WPP Media), sukesh nayak (CCO, Ogilvy India), and Darshana Shah (CMO, Aditya Birla Capital) offered real talk and deep reflections on the future of branding and advertising.

Some of the core learnings shared with the students included:

  • Embrace the Journey, Not Just the Destination – Don’t chase the rat race. Enjoy the process, and trust that your path will reveal itself.
  • It's Okay to Not Have It All Figured Out – The clarity comes with time, exploration, and self-trust.
  • Theory + Practice = Power – Learn the frameworks, yes, but get your hands dirty. Internships and real-world projects are your best teachers.
  • AI is a Tool, Not a Threat – AI won’t replace creativity. It might replace some roles, but be ready for new-age roles like chief prompt officers and beyond.
  • Be More in the Real World than the Reel World – Presence beats pretence. Experience over exposure.
  • College is Gold – Have fun, make memories, build friendships. But when the time comes—work hard, stay humble, and earn your place.

From compelling stories to grounded truths, the day gave students their first real taste of what it means to be a changemaker in the creative economy.
