SOBA practices unconventional and unique methods of teaching to engage our students. We employ a pragmatic, 'hands-on' approach delivered by industry professionals, brand managers and creative entrepreneurs along with class room delivery. Our carefully constructed curriculum uses a combination of in - classroom teachings and real-world business simulations, along with activities which enhance learning.

In 2019, SoBA was established under the patronage of SVKM's NMIMS University, continuing its heritage of educational innovation. As Program Chair of the School, I am extremely proud of the rich tradition of providing practical, experiential-based education that we have upheld since its founding. Our undergraduate program prepares our students to become advertisers and brand managers with the moral depth and intellectual intensity necessary to meet the challenges of a time of critical transition in society.
SoBA offers a unique blend of creative courses like Photography, Audio-Video production, Editing, Ad-film Making and marketing courses like Digital Marketing, Brand Management, Strategies of Business, Advertising, Public Relations etc. The curriculum is meticulously designed to helps the students understand the A-Z of branding and advertising. From strategizing about a product to designing a brief, copy writing, content creation, filming, editing, post-production, and finally analysing of the impressions of the advertisement post release, our students learn and experience it all in our three-year course.
Located in a city considered the economic and cultural hub of India, SoBA offers unique opportunities to its students to engage in out of classroom learning via campaign based, and live projects. Through the live project experience, our students have completed numerous advertising, branding, communications, creative designing and copy writing projects for local and national companies and not-for-profit organizations. The campaign based and live projects experience have not only benefited the community, but have provided the perfect opportunity for our students to begin putting their education into action.
Central to the success of our students, has been the experience-based knowledge that our faculty bring into the classroom. As thought leaders in their industry, the knowledge and research contributions of our faculty continue to drive change and have a positive societal impact.
